Glazing strip and method for attaching a glass element to a window frame or frame
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to a glazing strip according to the preambles of the independent claims set out below and to a method of attaching a glass element to a window frame or frame.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The glass element can be attached to the window frame or frame using glazing moldings. Typically, the glass element fitted into the glass aperture defined by the window frame or frame is first centered at the correct position by wedges mounted between the glass element edges and the frame or frame. The glass element is then fixed in place by glazing strips which are pressed against the surface of the glass element and secured to the frame or frame with nails, screws or glue. Glazing moldings can be used on both sides of the frame or frame. However, in most cases, glazing moldings are only used outside the frame or frame. The edges of the glass element then rest on the outside of the glazing strips and on the inside of the glazing or frame glazing.
Problems with known methods of attaching a glass element are related to glazing moldings, which are slow and laborious to attach to a window frame or frame. During the installation phase, the glazing strip often has to be fitted and held in place for a long time. There is a risk that the glass element will be broken when nailing and screwing the glazing strip. Nailing a glazing bar also exposes you to accidents at work. When gluing the glazing strip, there is a risk that the glue will stain the glass element as well as the frame or frame. In addition, the problem with known glazing moldings is that it is difficult or even impossible to remove them without breaking the glazing mold, frame or frame, in a situation where the glass element has to be replaced.
OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION
It is an object of the present invention to reduce or even eliminate the aforementioned problems and drawbacks of the prior art.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a glazing strip which enables fast and easy attachment of a glass element to a window frame or frame. Li Saxi It is an object of the present invention to provide a glazing strip which, when attached, does not run the risk of breaking the glass element. It is also an object of the present invention to provide a glazing strip that can be securely attached. It is also an object of the present invention to provide a glazing strip that can be detached without breaking the glazing strip and frame or frame.
It is also an object of the present invention to provide a window whose glass element has been able to be fastened to the window frame or frame quickly and easily.
It is also an object of the present invention to provide a quick and easy method of attaching a glass element to a window frame or frame.
The above disadvantages can be reduced or even eliminated, and the objectives defined above are achieved by the present invention, which is characterized by what is defined in the characterizing parts of the independent claims below.
Some embodiments of the invention are described in the dependent claims below.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
A typical glazing strip according to the invention comprises a profile strip and at least one fastener comprising a wedge portion inserted between the edge of the glass element and the window frame or frame, and a fastening portion to which the profile strip is removably attached.
The glazing strip according to the invention is a multi-piece comprising a profile strip and at least one fastener for attaching the profile strip to a window frame or frame. Each bracket comprises a fastening portion to which the profile strip is removably attached. By means of the profile strip being removably attached to the fastening member, it is understood in this text that the profile strip can be detached from the fastening section without breaking the profile strip. Advantageously, when the profile strip is removed, the fasteners also remain intact. Because the profile strip is removably attached, it is easy and quick to change.
The profile strip may be attached to the attachment member, for example, by a snap-on connection, whereby the profile strip can be secured to the attachment member by pressing and pulling off the attachment member. The profile strip can be attached to the mounting bracket either before or after mounting the bracket. The attachment part of the mounted bracket is outside the space between the edge of the glass element and the window frame or frame. Preferably, the bracket is designed such that the surface of the glass element contacts or nearly contacts the support surface of the mounting bracket of the stationary bracket, the glass element resting on the fastening portion of the bracket. The fastener may be made of, for example, plastic. Preferably, the bracket is a one piece body.
The bracket comprises a wedge portion to be inserted between the edge of the glass element and the frame or window frame. The wedge member holds the bracket, and thus the entire glazing strip, within the window or frame. The wedge member also keeps the edge of the glass element away from the window frame or frame, which reduces the risk of moisture damage. The thickness of the wedge portion is preferably selected such that the fasteners mounted on the window frame or frame allow the glass element in the glass aperture defined by the frame or frame to be centered in the correct position. The wedge portion may, for example, have a thickness of less than 10 mm, less than 8 mm, less than 6 mm or 1-5 mm. It is advisable to dimension the wedge part as long as possible so that the bracket remains firmly in place. Preferably, the length of the wedge portion is substantially the same as the thickness of the glass element used in the window. The length of the wedge portion may be, for example, less than 100 mm, less than 80 mm, less than 60 mm, less than 40 mm, 20 to 50 mm or 40 to 80 mm. For example, the wedge portion may have a width of less than 120 mm, less than 90 mm, less than 60 mm or less than 30 mm.
The bracket can be installed either before or after the glass element is fitted into the glass opening defined by the frame or frame. The wedge portion preferably has gripping members such as barbs for holding the retainer in place. The gripping members are arranged to grip the window frame or frame so that it is difficult to remove the fastener that is installed. Alternatively, the bracket may be secured to its frame or frame by its wedge portion, for example, by nailing or screwing, whereby the bracket must be inserted before the glass element is inserted into the glass opening. Alternatively, the bracket may also be secured to the frame or frame by its glue portion.
Preferably, the glazing strip comprises at least two fasteners. For example, the glazing strip may comprise two, three, four or five fasteners. The outermost fasteners are preferably arranged at the ends of the profile strip. Preferably, the distances between adjacent fasteners are substantially the same.
Preferably, only the profile list is visible from the glazing strip attached to the window frame or frame. For example, the visible portion of the profile strip may consist of two planar surfaces arranged at an angle to each other. For example, the angle between the planar surfaces may be about 90 degrees. The profile strip is preferably elongated. The profile strip may be made of, for example, wood, aluminum or plastic. The profile list is preferably a one piece piece.
The glazing strip according to the invention is used for attaching a glass element to a window frame or frame. The glass element fitted to the glass aperture defined by the sash or frame can be secured in place by attaching to one or more sides of the sash or frame of the window a glazing strip according to the invention. Preferably, the glazing strip is fastened by first mounting the fasteners in place and then the profile strip is fastened to the fasteners. Of course, the glazing strip can also be mounted to the window frame or frame with the profile strip pre-attached to the brackets. Glazing moldings can be used on both sides of the window frame or frame. Preferably, however, glazing moldings are used only outside the frame or frame. In this case, the edges of the glass element rest on the outside of the glazing strips and on the inside of the glazing nail of the sash or frame.
The glazing strip according to the invention has the advantage that it can be fast, easily and safely attached to the window element in the frame or frame of the window. Further, the glazing strip according to the invention has the advantage that there is no risk of breaking the glass element when it is attached. Another advantage of the glazing strip according to the invention is that the profile strip can be changed quickly and easily. It is also an advantage of the glazing strip according to the invention that it can be removed without breaking the glazing strip, the glass element and the frame or frame.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the profile strip comprises a counter part which is inserted into the fastening part. The profile strip is removably secured to the fastener by means of a counter part. Preferably, the counterpart and the fastening member are shaped such that the profile bar can be fastened to the fastener by pressing. Preferably, the mating member and the fastening member form a snap-on joint, whereby the profile strip can be easily and quickly attached to the bracket. In addition, the profile strip can be easily and quickly removed from the bracket when needed.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the fastening part comprises a jaw consisting of a first and a second jaw part, between which the counterpart is disposed. The first and second jaw members are flexible so that the jaw can open and then return to its original state. The flexible jaw sections make it easy to attach the profile strip to the bracket and keep it securely attached. If necessary, the profile strip can also be easily and quickly removed from the bracket.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the tip of the first jaw portion and / or the second jaw portion has a barb. The barbell is arranged inside the jaw. Preferably, both the first and second jaw portions have a barb. Thanks to the cable tie, the profile bar stays better in the bracket.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the counterpart comprises at least one barb for engaging the barb in the jaw. The counterpart may comprise a first barb for engaging a first barb in a first jaw portion and a second barb for engaging a second barb in a second jaw portion. The studs allow the profile strip to stay in the bracket better.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the wedge member comprises at least one pin which can be fitted in a groove within the window or in the frame to lock the fastener in place. The studs (s) do not require separate fastening devices such as nails, screws or glue to attach the bracket. When the bracket is inserted between the edge of the glass element and the frame or frame of the window, the barbs are automatically locked in the grooves in the frame or frame, so that no further steps are required to install the bracket. The wedge portion may comprise a plurality of barbs arranged parallel and / or sequentially to the wedge portion.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the wedge portion comprises at least two barbs spaced apart in the longitudinal direction of the wedge portion. The distance between successive barbs can be, for example, 10-30 mm.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the tip of the wedge portion is bevelled. The bevel at the tip of the wedge section facilitates the installation of the bracket between the edge of the glass element and the window frame or frame.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the profile strip is made of wood, aluminum, fiberglass or plastic. The wood used to make the profile strip may be, for example, pine, birch, spruce or oak. The plastic used to make the profile strip may be, for example, one of the following: PVC, ABS or ASA.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the fastener is made of plastic. The advantage of plastic is its poor thermal conductivity. The plastic used in the manufacture of the fastener may be, for example, one of the following: POM, PA6, PP or PE.
The invention also relates to a fixed window. A typical fixed window according to the invention comprises a frame and a glass element attached to the frame by at least one glazing strip according to the invention. Each glazing strip comprises one or more fasteners, the wedge portions of which are arranged between the edge of the glass element fitted to the glass opening and the frame. The profile strips are attached to the fastening parts of the fasteners. A fixed window may have multiple glazing strips attached to different sides of the frame and possibly to both sides of the frame. The glazing strips may be affixed to each side of the frame, that is, around the glass opening defined by the frame. Preferably, a glazing nail is provided on the inside of the frame, against which the edges of the glass element rest. In this case the glazing strips are used only outside the frame.
The invention also relates to a window which can be opened. A typical opening window according to the invention comprises a frame, a frame hinged to the frame and a glass element attached to the frame by at least one glazing strip according to the invention. Each glazing strip comprises one or more fasteners, the wedge portions of which are arranged between the edge of the glass element fitted to the glass opening and the frame. The profile strips are attached to the fastening parts of the brackets. The drop-down window may have several glazing strips attached to different sides of the sash and possibly to both sides of the sash. The glazing strips may be affixed to each side of the sash, i.e., around the glass opening defined by the sash. Preferably, a glazing nail is provided on the inside of the sash against which the edges of the glass element rest. In this case the glazing moldings are used only outside the frame.
The invention further relates to a method of attaching a glass element to a window frame or frame. In a typical method of the invention, a glass element is placed in a glass opening defined by a window frame or frame, and at least one glazing strip according to the invention is used such that a wedge portion of Several glazing strips attached to different sides of the frame or frame and possibly to both sides of the frame or frame can be used to attach the glass element. Glazing moldings can be placed on each side of the frame or frame, i.e., around the glass opening. Inside the frame or frame may be a glazing nail against which the edges of the glass element rest. In this case, the glazing strips are only used outside the frame or frame. Preferably, each glazing strip used to secure the glass element comprises at least two fasteners.
An advantage of the typical method of the invention is that the attachment of the glass element to the window frame or frame is quick and easy. The embodiments and advantages mentioned herein apply, mutatis mutandis, to every glazing mold, fixed window, opening window and method according to the invention, although not always mentioned separately.
